TL;DR
2026 is the year four Japanese franchises hit round birthdays at once: The Legend of Zelda turns 40, and Tamagotchi, the Detective Conan TV anime and the Persona series all turn 30. Each has an official anniversary program, and most of the physical goods are Japan-only. This guide lists what exists, what it costs on Japanese marketplaces today, and how to get it shipped.
- Zelda 40th — the Switch 2 Anniversary Edition console (29 Oct, ¥62,980) is a Japan-locked system; the Pro Controller (¥12,980 MSRP) and case (¥3,980) are the parts worth importing[1].
- Tamagotchi 30th — the Premium Bandai-only Tamagotchi nano colorful Mametchi Memories (¥6,600 MSRP) resells new and unopened at ¥7,700 on Mercari; the 30th Tama Space Original Tamagotchi is ¥2,900 on Rakuten[4].
- Detective Conan 30th — exhibition goods from the touring TV Anime Detective Conan 30th Exhibition resell for barely over venue price; the Weiß Schwarz Blau 30th box is ¥5,280 on Amazon Japan.
- Persona 30th — Atlus D Shop’s P30th line (acrylic stands ¥1,980, hoodie ¥11,000 MSRP) is already resale-only for most characters[7].
- Shipping to the US — a 600 g box of acrylic stands and magnets is US$20.99 by ECMS or US$31.59 by DHL; a 2.5 kg box with a Pro Controller and a Tamagotchi is US$29.88 / US$43.97 (quoted 17 September 2026).
As of September 2026. The honest read on anniversary merch is that the official first wave sells out in Japan, then reappears on Mercari and Rakuten at a small premium — and that premium is usually smaller than the markup on eBay. If you skipped the lotteries and Premium Bandai windows, you have not missed anything; you are just buying from a different shelf. The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary (1986–2026)
The first Legend of Zelda shipped on the Famicom Disk System on 21 February 1986[2]. Nintendo’s 40th program, laid out in the 8 September 2026 Zelda Direct, is hardware-heavy: a green-and-black Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition on 29 October at ¥62,980, a matching Pro Controller with display stand at ¥12,980, a carrying case with screen protector at ¥3,980, and the Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2 on 5 November, sold separately[1]. A film, a 40th concert and Nintendo Museum exhibits round out the year[2].
The catch that matters for importers: the anniversary console is the “Japanese-Language System (Japan only)” — Japanese UI, Japan-region Nintendo Accounts only[1]. Pre-orders through OneMall already run ¥72,000–¥98,000. The controller, case and game have no such lock. The Amazon Japan controller listing at ¥17,480 is above the ¥12,980 MSRP but is in stock now; Rakuten shops that listed it at MSRP-plus-a-little (¥15,300 yesterday) have sold through. Ocarina of Time at ¥8,052 is a Japanese package of a multilingual game. Tamagotchi 30th Anniversary (1996–2026)
Bandai released the first Tamagotchi on 23 November 1996 and set the 30th anniversary for 23 November 2026, with an anniversary year that started in January[3]. The program is broad: a permanent Tamagotchi Factory store in Harajuku, the touring Great Tamagotchi Exhibition (Tokyo in January–February, Aichi in March–April) and pop-up stores in nine cities through January 2027.
The products collectors are chasing are three:
- Tamagotchi nano colorful “Mametchi Memories” 30th Yellow / 30th Blue — ¥6,600 tax-in, sold only through Premium Bandai in Japan, for ages 15 and up[4]. It is a Mametchi retrospective device, and the reservation window has closed, so it is a resale item now.
- Original Tamagotchi 30th Anniversary “Tama Space” — the classic shell in an anniversary design, listed by Rakuten toy shops as a 19 September 2026 release at ¥2,900.
- Celebration! Tamagotchi 30th Chara-Magnets — the candy-toy magnets of every generation of Tamagotchi device, sold by the box of 14, plus Tamagotchi Collectibles 30th Anniversary Vol. 1 figures at ¥880 each.
A new, unopened Mametchi Memories at ¥7,700 is about 17% over MSRP — the going rate on Mercari this week is ¥7,700–¥7,800, with used units from about ¥6,300. Detective Conan TV Anime 30th Anniversary (1996–2026)
The Detective Conan TV anime began on 8 January 1996, so 2026 is its 30th broadcast year[5]. Unlike the manga’s 30th in 2024 (which had its own exhibition — listings labelled 連載30周年 are from that one), the 2026 program is anime-branded: the touring TV Anime Detective Conan 30th Exhibition, Sega prize goods with the 30th logo, a Japan Mint 2026 commemorative coin set sold by lottery, and Bushiroad’s Weiß Schwarz Blau “Detective Conan TV Anime 30th Anniversary” premium pack.
Exhibition goods are priced sanely at the venue — acrylic stands ¥1,650, lenticular stands ¥990, mascots ¥1,980, the art book ¥3,850 — with purchase limits of two per item[6], which is why resale prices stay close to retail:
The Conan lenticular stand at ¥1,111 is only ¥121 over venue price. The Weiß Schwarz Blau box is ¥5,280 on Amazon Japan; a sealed box on Yahoo Flea Market was ¥4,000 today, so it pays to check both. Persona 30th Anniversary (1996–2026)
Megami Ibunroku Persona — Revelations: Persona in the West — launched on the PlayStation on 20 September 1996[8]. Atlus and Sega opened the “2026 HAPPY PERSONA 30th YEAR” site on 1 January with a Shigenori Soejima key visual of every protagonist[7], and put the first P30th official goods on sale at Atlus D Shop on 8 January: protagonist acrylic stands ¥1,980, keychains ¥1,100, the KV hoodie ¥11,000, T-shirts ¥3,850–¥6,600, a Codex-style pouch ¥6,380[7]. Since then the collaborations have not stopped: Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, Lawson, Keio railway, Daimaru, Harakado, Ichikakuya ramen and a Sanrio Characters pop-up, each with its own exclusive cards and stands.
The official Joker stand at ¥3,400 is the ¥1,980 D Shop item at a resale premium; the Mercari market for the same stands runs ¥2,200–¥3,400 depending on the protagonist. The Persona Series Wafers 3 – 30th Anniversary box (20 packs with metallic plastic cards) is a September 2026 Bandai candy release at ¥2,980 — note that food-category items ship by DHL only on the US line. Official prices are Japanese tax-inclusive MSRPs from the makers’ pages[1][4][6][7]; live listings are what the seller asks today and change daily. OneMall adds a service fee per order (¥200 fixed on Mercari and Amazon items under ¥7,000, 3% above that, capped at ¥300; 3% on Rakuten with a ¥200 minimum), then international shipping as a second payment.
What It Costs to Ship Anniversary Merch to the US

Two things move these numbers. First, shipping is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight (L×W×H ÷ 5,000), so a Pro Controller in its retail box costs more than its 500-odd grams suggest — OneMall’s warehouse can repack. Second, consolidation: the first six orders combined into one parcel are free (¥100 per order after that), and everything sits in 90 days of free storage, so you can collect the Tamagotchi in September, the Zelda controller at the end of October and the Ocarina of Time game in November, then ship once.
How to Buy Anniversary Goods From Japan With OneMall

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 worth importing?
Only if you have a Japan-region Nintendo Account and read Japanese — it is sold as the “Japanese-Language System (Japan only)”[1]. The Pro Controller, carrying case and Ocarina of Time have no region lock and are the sensible buys.
Can I still get the Tamagotchi nano colorful Mametchi Memories at MSRP?
Not from Bandai: it was a Premium Bandai reservation item at ¥6,600[4]. New, unopened units list on Mercari at ¥7,700–¥7,800 today, used ones from about ¥6,300.
Why do some Detective Conan “30th” goods look different from others?
There are two 30ths: the manga’s (2024, labelled 連載30周年) and the TV anime’s (2026, labelled 放送30周年 or “TV Anime 30th Anniversary”)[5]. Both are legitimate; check which exhibition a listing names.
Are the P30th acrylic stands on Amazon Japan official?
The stands sold as “P30th Persona 30th Anniversary Official Merchandise” are the Atlus D Shop items (¥1,980 MSRP)[7] resold by marketplace sellers, which is why they cost more. Collaboration stands (Sea Paradise, Lawson, Ichikakuya) are separate designs.
What is the cheapest way to ship a few small anniversary items to the US?
