TL;DR
Tamagotchi turns 30 on 23 November 2026, and Bandai has run a full anniversary year since November 2025: a permanent Tamagotchi Factory store, a touring Great Tamagotchi Exhibition, pop-up shops in nine cities and a stream of 30th-branded devices and candy toys. Almost all of it is sold only in Japan; here is the complete list with today’s prices on Mercari and Rakuten.
- The flagship device is the Premium Bandai-only Tamagotchi nano colorful Mametchi Memories (30th Yellow / 30th Blue, ¥6,600)[4] — reservations closed, so it is resale-only: ¥7,700 new and unopened on Mercari today.
- The cheap one is the Original Tamagotchi 30th Anniversary Tama Space, ¥3,080 MSRP, out 19 September 2026[5] — ¥2,900 on Rakuten pre-order, below list.
- Candy toys: 15 Chara-Magnets at ¥297 each (18 May)[6] and six Collectibles 30th Vol. 1 figures at ¥880 (11 July)[7] — buy by the box or the complete set.
- Exhibition-only goods (mascots, charms, acrylic cards) resell at ¥600–¥1,800.
- Shipping: a 600 g box of small goods is US$20.99 by ECMS to the US; a device plus a sealed box is US$24.55.
As of September 2026. The interesting thing about this anniversary is that Bandai split it in two: the collector devices (Mametchi Memories, Tama Space) went through Premium Bandai and toy shops in small runs, while the mass-market pieces (magnets, wafers-style collectibles) flooded supermarkets. The first group is where the resale market is; the second is where you buy at retail without thinking.

The Tamagotchi 30th Anniversary Program: Timeline
Bandai released the first Tamagotchi on 23 November 1996; the 30th anniversary date is 23 November 2026, and the anniversary year officially started in January 2026[1]. By July 2025 cumulative shipments had passed 100 million units, 51% of them outside Japan[2].

Tamagotchi nano colorful “Mametchi Memories” 30th Yellow / 30th Blue
The anniversary device. It is a nano colorful — the colour-screen nano line — built around Mametchi as he appeared across the generations, sold only through Premium Bandai at ¥6,600 tax-in for ages 15 and up[4]. The reservation window has closed. On Mercari, sealed units list at ¥7,700–¥7,800 (yellow and blue) and lightly used ones from about ¥6,300; screen protectors and cases cut for it are already on Rakuten for around ¥1,000.
Original Tamagotchi 30th Anniversary Tama Space
The classic egg with the Gen 1 program (feed, clean, discipline, mini-games) in a limited anniversary art shell with a ball chain, ¥3,080 tax-in, release 19 September 2026[5]. Rakuten toy shops took pre-orders below MSRP; this is the anniversary item you can buy at retail.
Celebration! Tamagotchi 30th Chara-Magnets
Bandai Candy’s 15-design acrylic magnet series, one random glitter magnet plus soda gum per pack at ¥297, released 18 May 2026[6]. The designs are the devices themselves — the 1996 white and pink originals, the Plus generations, iD L, P’s, 4U, m!x, Uni, Paradise and the 30th logo — which is why collectors buy the 14-pack box rather than singles.
Tamagotchi Collectibles 30th Anniversary Vol. 1
Six figures (Mametchi, Pochitchi, Flowertchi, Kuromametchi, Lovelitchi, Melodytchi) in a charm-equipped case that doubles as a holder for an Original Tamagotchi, ¥880 each, released 11 July 2026[7]. Rakuten sellers offer complete sets of six and a 36-pack case.
Exhibition and store exclusives
The Great Tamagotchi Exhibition sold venue-only mascots, miniature charm capsules, acrylic cards, masking tape, postcards and clear files; the Factory store has its own key-visual line. None of these were sold online, so Mercari is the only route — and they are cheap there because attendance was high.

Two of the six are below the official price — the box of magnets and the set of Collectibles cost less than buying 14 or 6 singles at MSRP — and the Tama Space pre-order is under list too. The premium is concentrated on the Premium Bandai device.

Quotes from OneMall’s calculator for Los Angeles on 17 September 2026; the US line offers ECMS and DHL only. Shipping is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight (L×W×H ÷ 5,000). The first six orders consolidated into one parcel are free (¥100 per order after that), and every order gets 90 days of free storage, so items released months apart can go out in one box. Service fees start at ¥200 per order (¥200 fixed on Mercari and Amazon Japan items under ¥7,000, 3% above that capped at ¥300; 3% on Rakuten with a ¥200 minimum).
A Tama Space or a Mametchi Memories with its box weighs under 200 g; a box of 14 magnets about 400 g; the Collectibles set about 500 g. Everything on this page fits the 1.5 kg tier together.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Tamagotchi 30th anniversary device region-locked or Japanese-only?
No. The Tama Space runs the Gen 1 program with some English text[5]; the nano colorful Mametchi Memories is a Japanese-market device with Japanese menus, like every nano colorful.
Will the Mametchi Memories be re-released?
Bandai has not announced a rerun; it was a Premium Bandai reservation item[4]. Resale at ¥7,700 for a sealed unit is about 17% over MSRP, which is modest for a closed-window Premium Bandai release.
What is the difference between the Chara-Magnets and the Collectibles?
Magnets are flat acrylic pictures of the 15 devices (¥297)[6]; Collectibles are small character figures in a case with a sticker (¥880)[7]. Both are random-pack candy toys, so boxes and complete sets are the sane way to buy.
Can I buy exhibition goods now that the Tokyo and Aichi shows are over?
Only second-hand. Mercari listings for the exhibition mascots, charms and cards are plentiful and cheap; the exhibition continues touring, so more stock keeps arriving.
What does it cost to ship one device to the US?
Under 600 g in a small box: US$20.99 by ECMS (10-20 days) or US$31.59 by DHL (3-7 days), plus the OneMall service fee on the order.
