On release day a shrink-wrapped box costs ¥18,900 at the lowest on SNKRDUNK[2] and ¥16,800–¥23,100 on the listings we read through OneMall — roughly 2.3× – 3.2× MSRP. Singles are cheaper than a box if you only want one card.

As of September 2026, the Japanese release of a big Pokémon set no longer means a queue at a card shop — it means a lottery gated by the My Number ID card, and a resale market that opens at three times retail the same morning. This page is the release-day snapshot: what 30th CELEBRATION actually costs in Japan today, which cards are driving the price, and the cheapest routes to get it shipped abroad.

30th CELEBRATION Release-Day Prices: MSRP vs Japanese Resale
The official prices below come from The Pokémon Company’s notice on the anniversary lottery[1]. The SNKRDUNK column is the lowest active ask on Japan’s authenticated resale marketplace at the time of writing (the box page showed 9,999+ “wants” against 99+ sellers, and a release date of 16 September 2026 with a ¥7,200 list price)[2]. The OneMall column is what we actually read on Mercari[3], Yahoo! Auctions[4] and Rakuten listings today — every link is a live listing you can order through OneMall.

Two things stand out. First, the resale floor is set by the shrink-wrap: a factory-sealed box is worth about ¥2,800–¥8,000 more than the same box with the shrink removed, because the sealed box is what collectors and graders want. Second, the FUTURISTIC BOX has the widest spread of anything in the set — ¥45,000 on Mercari versus ¥100,000–¥108,000 on Yahoo! Auctions — so it is the one product where reading several listings before you order changes the price by a factor of two.
The Chase Cards (and What They Cost as Singles)
The set is numbered to 103 cards, but the secret rares run to 142/103, and four of them explain most of the box price. If you want one specific card, buying the single is cheaper than gambling on packs at today’s multiples — a single Lugia costs less than one sealed box.

The card-number convention matters when you search Japanese listings: type the number, not the name. “142/103” finds the anniversary Lugia and nothing else; “ルギア” (Lugia) alone returns every Lugia printed since 2000. OneMall’s search takes Japanese or English, so searching “ルギア 142/103” lists exactly the cards in the table above.

What a Box Actually Costs Delivered
OneMall charges two payments: item price plus service fee first, international shipping second. For a Mercari listing above ¥7,000 the service fee is 3% capped at ¥300, so on a ¥22,000 box the fee is a flat ¥300.

DHL to the same US address is US$31.59 (3–7 days) if you want the box in a week rather than three. How to Buy 30th CELEBRATION From Japan: Step by Step
- Step 1 — Open the Pokémon 30th Celebration page or search “30th CELEBRATION” on OneMall. Filter to Mercari for fixed prices, Yahoo! Auctions for the lowest opening prices.
- Step 2 — Check the listing photos for the shrink seal (シュリンク付き = sealed, シュリンクなし = removed). Sealed boxes carry the premium in the table above; a “ペリなし” note means the tear strip is still intact.
- Step 3 — Order through OneMall. First payment = item price + service fee (¥200–¥300 on Mercari). OneMall buys it, receives it at the Japan warehouse and photographs it.
- Step 4 — Add singles or a deck set to the same parcel. Storage is free for 90 days; consolidation of the first 6 orders is free, then ¥100 per additional order.
- Step 5 — Pick the carrier. ECMS is the cheapest US option at US$17.44 for a box; EMS[6] or DHL for speed. Second payment covers shipping only.
- Step 6 — Declare honestly. Trading cards are dutiable in most countries; the US has had no de minimis exemption since 29 August 2025, so expect duties on any value.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it worth buying a 30th CELEBRATION box on release day?
Only if you want the sealed box as a collectible. At ¥18,900–¥22,000 you are paying 2.6× – 3.1× MSRP for 20 packs; the four chase cards together list for about ¥48,998 as singles, which is less than two boxes. Buyers who want specific cards should buy singles; buyers who want the sealed product should buy now only if the Yahoo! Auctions floor (¥16,800) is acceptable.
Why is the shrink-removed box so much cheaper?
Because the Pokémon Center lottery ships boxes to winners with the shrink on, and some winners remove it to check contents before reselling. A removed shrink cannot prove the packs are untouched, so graders and collectors discount it by ¥2,800 or more.
Can OneMall buy from SNKRDUNK?
The SNKRDUNK prices in this article are the Japanese market reference; OneMall’s supported marketplaces are Mercari, Yahoo! Auctions, Amazon Japan, Rakuten, Rakuma, Suruga-ya, ZOZOTOWN and others, and the listings linked above are all orderable today. Mercari asks for a sealed box were within ¥3,100 of the SNKRDUNK floor when we checked.
What does “FUR” or “SAR” mean on the Mew and Pikachu cards?
SAR is a special-art rare (full-bleed illustration). FUR is “Futuristic Rare”, a new rarity introduced with this set and led by Mew ex and Mewtwo ex. The 135/103 Mew ex is the FUR and the 129/103 Mew ex is the SAR, which is why the same Pokémon appears at two prices in the chase table.
Are these prices going to fall?
We can only report what we read: on 16 September the sealed-box floor was ¥16,800 and the SNKRDUNK want-list stood at 9,999+[2]. We will re-check the listings and update the figures; the date at the bottom of this page is the last time every price was verified.
Buy It at Japanese Prices, Not Import Prices
The gap between a Japanese seller’s ask and what the same box costs from an overseas reseller is usually larger than the shipping.
