Everything on this page refers to the Japanese-language Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex, collector number 243/193 in MEGA Dream ex high-class pack. An English print of the same artwork is a different card with its own number, set name and market[5], as are promo versions and full-art variants from other sets. Match the number on the slab label before you compare any price.
Is Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex PSA 10 worth 3.09× the raw card?
A 3.09× multiple with a ¥5,345 gap is a modest premium, and the reason is the raw price: Marnie’s Grimmsnarl holds ¥2,555–¥3,000 ungraded. The PSA 9 at ¥5,299 sits ¥2,601 under the cheapest 10 and ¥2,744 over the cheapest raw, so the market prices the PSA 9 certificate and the step from 9 to gem mint about equally. PSA’s grading scale[6] separates 9 and 10 on small flaws. If you want a slab, the ¥7,900 10 is the pick; the 9 is for buyers who want a certified copy for less.
| Route | Cost today (JPY, before shipping) | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Buy the cheapest PSA 10 slab | ¥7,900 | Grade already locked in; you pay the full premium, nothing to wait for. |
| Buy the cheapest raw copy as-is | ¥2,555 | Cheapest way to own the artwork; condition is whatever the photos show. |
| Buy a raw copy that offers Mercari official authentication (OneMall submits the item; Mercari official issues the conclusion; OneMall does not guarantee authenticity) | ¥4,699 | The ¥2,999 Mercari raw (the cheapest raw listed here that offers it) + ¥1,700 authentication fee[1]; Mercari official issues its conclusion before the card ships (OneMall does not guarantee authenticity), but it is still ungraded. |
The ¥7,900 Yahoo! Flea Market slab is the buy for the grade. For the binder, the cheapest raw is the ¥2,555 pre-owned Mercari copy (no authentication option); the ¥2,999 nearly unused Mercari raw offers Mercari official authentication (OneMall submits the item; Mercari official issues the conclusion; OneMall does not guarantee authenticity)[1] (¥4,699 all-in). Check the seller’s photos first. The ¥5,299 PSA 9 is a fair middle option at 67% of the 10.
Getting a Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex SAR 243/193 shipped from Japan
The cheapest slab is a Yahoo! Flea Market listing; a proxy buys it exactly like a Mercari one. The steps:
- Step 1 — Open the listing on OneMall. Every tile below links straight to the OneMall item page for that exact copy, so you skip the Japanese-only Mercari app entirely.
- Step 2 — Check the slab label in the photos. Read the collector number on the PSA label before you pay; the same Pokémon often exists at several numbers in the same set.
- Step 3 — Add authentication if the seller offers it. For raw cards on Mercari, tick Mercari official authentication (OneMall submits the item; Mercari official issues the conclusion; OneMall does not guarantee authenticity) at checkout (+¥1,700)[1][2]; the card is inspected before it leaves Japan.
- Step 4 — Pay the first invoice. Item price plus the service fee (¥300 per item on most marketplaces; from ¥200 per item on Yahoo Auctions and LinkBuy) — international shipping is a separate second payment once the card is weighed at the warehouse.
- Step 5 — Consolidate and ship. Cards sit in free storage for 90 days after arrival (30 days after consolidation), the first six orders consolidate free, and one padded parcel to the US goes out by ECMS, DHL or Japan Post EMS (DDP).
