TL;DR

Naruto cards today mostly means Kayou: a Chinese card maker that launched licensed NARUTO collectible cards in China in 2021 and brought its “Smriti” sets to US stores in fall 2025. A true Naruto trading card game returns from Bandai in summer 2027. In Japan, Kayou Naruto singles were listed from ¥300 on 2026-10-09.

  • Kayou Naruto cards: collectible cards in two separate lines, the Chinese 火影忍者 传承典藏卡 and the US “NARUTO Smriti Collectible Cards”.
  • Rarities: SE (Scenario-E) and SP (Special) cards appear only in the bonus slot of half the packs; every pack carries two PTR cards.
  • Naruto trading cards value: most singles in Japan sell for a few hundred yen; SE cards and PSA 10 promos run into the thousands and tens of thousands.
  • Naruto trading card game: Bandai’s NARUTO CARD GAME launches worldwide in summer 2027, with 51-card decks built around a Leader card.

As of October 2026, the Naruto card market is split three ways: Chinese-edition Kayou cards that started the boom, English-text Kayou sets on US shelves, and a Bandai game that has not reached stores yet. This guide explains what each one is, decodes the rarity letters on Kayou Naruto cards, and prices real listings in Japan, where these cards trade as imports.

What are Kayou Naruto cards?

Kayou is China’s largest trading card maker. Its 2025 IPO prospectus reported 2024 revenue of RMB 10.057 billion, 81.5% of it from trading cards, and a 71.1% share of the trading card segment of China’s pan-entertainment toy market.[2] NARUTO is one of its licensed brands. In 2021 Kayou and Pierrot China, the Shanghai subsidiary of the anime studio Studio Pierrot, launched 火影忍者 传承典藏卡 (NARUTO Heritage Collection Cards), covering Naruto Shippuden and Boruto; at that time Kayou held the only mainland-China license for NARUTO paper card products.[1]

Kayou entered the US market on September 17, 2025, with NARUTO Smriti Collectible Cards — Heaven Scroll Edition, built around ukiyo-e style Scenario-E (SE) cards and stained-glass style Special (SP) cards. Its launch channels included Amazon, Walmart, Target, GameStop, Barnes & Noble and TikTok Shop.[3] The US cards carry “-NA” product codes and romanized names, so they read differently from the Chinese edition.[4]

Kayou Naruto cards are collectible cards, not a game: there are no rules or decks. They also have no Japanese release, so in Japan they are sold second-hand as imports, with sellers marking them 中国版 (Chinese edition), 英語版 (English edition) or 海外限定 (overseas only).

Kayou Naruto trading cards in the US: the Smriti sets

Kayou’s official NARUTO pages list four Smriti lines. Pack sizes differ more than the names suggest, so check the format before comparing prices.

Set Released Pack and box Card types (rarity tiers) Official US store price on 2026-10-09
Heaven Scroll, Series 1 September 2025 8 cards per pack, 24 packs per box 158 (10 tiers) —
Chapter Jin, Series 2 November 2025 8 cards per pack, 12 packs per box 168 (11 tiers) —
Earth Scroll, Series 1 Collector Box December 2025 5 packs of 8 cards 131 (8 tiers) —
Earth Scroll, Series 2 March 2026 7 cards per pack, 20 packs per box 132 (8 tiers) $39.80 per box
Chapter Jin, Series 3 April 2026 8 cards per pack, 12 packs per box 185 (13 tiers) $47.88 per box
Ninja Age Premium Collector Box August 2026 16 packs of 5 cards plus 1 promo card 106 (10 tiers) $129.00

Set details from Kayou’s official NARUTO series pages[4]; prices from Kayou’s official US store[5]. A dash means the set had no listed price that day.

Per pack, that works out to $3.99 for Chapter Jin Series 3 ($47.88 ÷ 12) and $1.99 for Earth Scroll Series 2 ($39.80 ÷ 20). The store also had Chapter Jin 004 and Earth Scroll 003 on preorder.[5]

Kayou Naruto card rarities: SE, SP, BP, PTR and more

The letters printed on Kayou Naruto cards are rarity codes. Heaven Scroll, the first US set, uses ten:

Code Rarity name Card types in Heaven Scroll
SE Scenario-E 4
SP Special 4
BP Brush Rare 7
MR Miracle Rare 6
PU Parallel Universe 8
PTR Platinum Rare 20
UR Ultra Rare 15
SSR Super Secret Rare 24
SR Super Rare 20
R Rare 50

Codes, names and counts as listed on Kayou’s Heaven Scroll page.[4]

Kayou lists the codes in this order but does not call it a value ranking. The pack recipe is more useful: every Heaven Scroll pack holds two PTR cards, and only half of the packs have a bonus slot that can contain a PU, MR, BP, SP or SE card.[4] Newer sets add codes such as AR (Amber Rare), HR (Holo Rare) and the diamond-marked parallels (◇UR), and SSR stands for “Super Spark Rare” in Earth Scroll and Ninja Age.[4] Chinese-edition cards in Japanese listings also use letters such as OR and SLR; Kayou has not published those in English, so judge them by the listing photos rather than by the code alone.

Is there a Naruto trading card game?

Yes, and it is older than Kayou. Bandai released a NARUTO card game in Japan with Volume 1 on December 13, 2002: a 40-card starter box cost ¥840 and a 6-card booster ¥158.[7] Its English counterpart, Bandai’s Naruto CCG, came out in 2006 and ran until 2013.[8]

New Naruto anime trading cards in 2026 and 2027

Bandai is bringing the game back as NARUTO CARD GAME. Each player builds a 51-card deck plus 5 Chakra cards and 1 Summon card around a Leader card, with characters from NARUTO, NARUTO Shippuden and BORUTO. Bandai’s roadmap promises more information in December 2026, in-store tutorials from January 2027 and a worldwide release in summer 2027.[6] Until then, the new Naruto anime trading cards on shelves are Kayou’s: Chapter Jin 004 and Earth Scroll 003 were on preorder at Kayou’s US store on 2026-10-09.[5]

How to buy Naruto cards from Japan

Japanese sellers list Kayou Naruto cards in Japanese, and most ship only inside Japan, so a proxy that buys locally and forwards one parcel is the practical route.

  1. Search in Japanese. Sellers list Naruto Kayou cards under NARUTO KAYOU, 火影忍者 or ナルト カード; add the character name and rarity code, for example 桃地再不斬 SE.
  2. Check the edition. 中国版 marks a Chinese-edition card, and 英語版 or a “-NA” code marks the US edition. Both are Kayou cards; they are different products.
  3. Read the condition notes. 未開封 means unopened, and 初期傷 means factory flaws such as white edges or off-center cuts, which sellers of Kayou cards often mention.
  4. Order through OneMall. The service fee is ¥300 per item on most marketplaces and from ¥200 per item on Yahoo Auctions and LinkBuy. You pay by Visa, Mastercard or PayPal, settled in USD.
  5. Check before it ships. Add unboxing photos (¥500 or ¥700) or a wrong/missing item check (¥200). For graded cards, choose PSA slabbed listings and match the certificate number in the photos.
  6. Consolidate, then ship once. Items are stored free for 90 days after arrival (30 days after consolidation); the first 6 orders consolidate free and each additional order costs ¥100. US parcels go by ECMS or DHL.

Item prices read from the linked listings on 2026-10-09. Shipping: live checkout quotes to Los Angeles (90001) on 2026-10-09, charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight. US duties, taxes and the seller’s domestic shipping are extra.

Since August 29, 2025, US-bound parcels of any value go through customs and pay applicable duties, taxes and fees — the $800 de minimis exemption no longer applies. Timing is an estimated average: 3–5 business days for an in-stock item to reach the Tokyo warehouse (Mercari sellers have up to 7 days to ship first), then 1–3 business days to dispatch after you pay for international shipping.

Conclusion

Naruto cards in 2026 are Kayou collectibles: Chinese-edition sets that trade cheaply as imports in Japan, and the US Smriti sets at about $2 to $4 a pack. If you want to play rather than collect, the NARUTO CARD GAME arrives from Bandai in summer 2027. When you are ready to buy, browse Japanese trading card listings on OneMall and search the terms above.

Are Chinese and US Kayou Naruto cards the same?

No. They are separate product lines with different sets and packaging; US cards carry “-NA” product codes and romanized names such as Uzumaki Naruto.
