TL;DR
The Pokémon Trapinch stapler (ステープラー かみつき隊 ナックラー) is a Pokémon Center Original desk stapler with an official price of ¥1,760 including tax[1]. On November 6, 2026, its official store page read 品切れ with a greyed-out cart button, so this guide covers buying a Japanese resale listing through a proxy such as OneMall.
- Release: Pokémon Center Online lists February 15, 2024, as the release date[1], and the official announcement gave February 17 for Pokémon Center stores[2].
- Specs: 6.2 × 4.2 × 10.6 cm and 133 g, with 1,000 No. 10 staples included[1]. The official page lists no maximum sheet count.
- Resale prices on November 6, 2026: new, unused Mercari listings asked ¥12,000 to ¥16,900, roughly seven to ten times the official price.
- Official delivery: Pokémon Center Online delivers within Japan only[7].
As of November 2026, the official online page for this Pokemon stapler shows a greyed-out cart button, and Japanese resale sellers ask many times its original tag. Our take: treat it as a desk collectible that happens to staple, and judge each listing on its condition and your total cost rather than on how charming the jaw is.
Below you will find what the official pages say about it, a dated Japan price table, where it has been sold, and the steps for ordering one from overseas. Facts we could not source, such as a sheet capacity, are left out.
What is the Trapinch stapler?
The Trapinch stapler is a small stapler shaped like Trapinch, sold under the Pokémon Center Original label. The jaw does the work: the official description says it can gather papers together as if chomping down with its big jaw (大きなアゴでガブッとかみつくみたいに), and 1,000 staples come with it[1].
It comes from かみつき隊 (Kamitsuki-tai), a goods line built around the move かみつく (bite). The Pokémon Company International’s press site calls the line “Bite Squad” in a release about its hand puppets[5]. Pokémon’s Japanese site announced the line on February 9, 2024, with five Pokémon in the theme and this stapler among the featured items[2]. Trapinch is a natural pick: the Pokédex lists it as a Ground-type Ant Pit Pokémon, #0328[3], and its Japanese entry describes it digging through sand while crushing rocks with its big jaws[4].
The official store page and announcement are in Japanese and give no English product name. “Trapinch stapler” is a plain description built from the English name of ナックラー, and you may also see it searched as “trapinch stapler pokemon” or “pokemon stapler trapinch”. The Japanese listing titles we read pair ナックラー with ステープラー, ホッチキス or ホチキス.

How much is the Trapinch stapler in Japan?
The official Japan price is ¥1,760 including tax, and the product page still showed that figure on November 6, 2026, next to the label 品切れ (the store’s status for having no units to sell)[1]. Every other Trapinch stapler price below is set by a reseller, and we read each one on its source platform that day. The table covers the listings we could read there, not the whole market, so treat it as a dated snapshot rather than a quote.
| Where | Price | Condition label on the page | What the page showed on November 6, 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pokémon Center Online (official store) | ¥1,760 including tax | Not applicable | Labelled 品切れ; cart button greyed out[1] |
| Mercari, six listings | ¥12,000 to ¥16,900 | 新品、未使用 (new, unused) | Purchase button showing |
| Mercari, two listings | ¥10,999 and ¥14,444 | 未使用に近い (nearly unused) | Purchase button showing |
| Yahoo Flea Market, one listing | ¥13,500 | 未使用 (unused) | Purchase button showing |
| Suruga-ya shops, four listings (three on Mercari Shops, one on Rakuten) | ¥25,560 to ¥35,500 | Titled 中古 (used); the three on Mercari Shops are labelled 目立った傷や汚れなし (no noticeable marks) | Purchase button showing |
Condition explains only part of the spread. At the low end, the ¥10,999 listing is labelled nearly unused, and its seller says the package was opened once and put back together. A new, unused listing costs only a little more, at ¥12,000. Meanwhile, used units from the Suruga-ya shops ask ¥25,560 to ¥35,500, roughly two to three times that new, unused price, so comparing a few listings pays off.
These are asking prices for single units, shown as each page displayed them. Some sellers include Japanese domestic shipping and others add it on top, and the ¥25,560 listing was on a time sale. When one sells, that price is gone, and the next listing may ask more or less.
Where is the Pokemon stapler officially sold?
The announcement on Pokémon’s Japanese site lists all Pokémon Center stores (ポケモンセンター全店) and Pokémon Center Online as sales channels. It adds that other Pokémon Stores might carry the goods after release and that products vary by store. It also lists Amazon.co.jp’s Pokémon Store, but its note there covers items marked ★, the five puppet plushes, and the stapler has no ★[2]. Here is where the two main channels stood when we checked:
- Pokémon Center Online. The product page read 品切れ on November 6, 2026, with a greyed-out cart button and no date for more units[1]. The same label appeared on all 27 results for かみつき隊 on the site that day, including other Trapinch merch such as the puppet plush, cable bite and salad bowl[6]. Even when an item is available, the delivery guide says the store does not accept overseas deliveries (海外へのお届けにつきましては、お受けしておりません) and takes delivery addresses in Japan only[7].
- Pokémon Center stores. The announcement gave February 17, 2024, as the store date[2]. We could not confirm whether any individual store still has one on the shelf, so we make no claim either way.
If the official page starts taking orders again, LinkBuy, our service for Japanese online stores not on our main site, is an option for regular items. Lottery items, items with purchase caps, and items that need Japanese identity verification or a merchant account are excluded. Our guide to ordering from Pokémon Center Online from the US covers those rules in more detail.
How to buy the Trapinch stapler from Japan through OneMall
We are a Japan-based proxy shopping and forwarding service: we purchase from Japanese marketplaces for overseas buyers and forward the item to you. We are a proxy, not a Pokémon seller, and the listing below comes from an individual Mercari seller rather than from Pokémon Center.
This card links to a new, unused Mercari listing at ¥12,000, the low end of that condition’s range in our November 6, 2026, price table. The seller says it was bought at a Pokémon Center and is unopened (未開封品), and lists the same body size as the official page. The listing photos show the stapler and a staple box on a card package.
- Step 1: Open the listing. Use the card above. If that unit has gone, search for ナックラー ステープラー and pick another one.
- Step 2: Match it to the official specs. Compare the photos and seller notes with the table above: the Trapinch body, the staples and the 6.2 × 4.2 × 10.6 cm size. If the seller shows the package back, the barcode should read 4521329358765. Check the condition label too.
- Step 3: Check your total before you pay. The listing price is not your total. The service fee, any Japanese domestic shipping the seller charges, international shipping and import charges are separate, so use the figures on the product page and our shipping calculator rather than a number from an article.
- Step 4: Place the order. Sign in, use Buy It Now on the product page and pay for the item. We purchase it from the seller, and it goes to our Tokyo warehouse.
- Step 5: Add checks if you want them. Before international shipping, you can add unboxing photos or a wrong or missing item check to see what actually arrived.
- Step 6: Choose shipping and pay for it. International shipping is paid separately after the item reaches our warehouse. Customs duties, import taxes and clearance fees are paid by the buyer.
Two things to know before Step 4. Mercari items are second-hand listings and, in principle, cannot be cancelled once ordered, so do your comparing first. And our page for this listing showed a Bargain button on November 6: bargaining works on individual Mercari sellers’ items of ¥1,001 or more, with offers down to 80% of the list price and one try per item, and the seller can say no. For more on how these orders work, read our overseas buyer’s guide to Mercari Japan.
Conclusion
The facts on this one are simple: a ¥1,760 official price, a February 2024 release, No. 10 staples and an official page that read 品切れ when we checked. The real decision is whether paying ¥10,999 or more is worth it to you for a stapler that bites. If it is, compare condition and seller notes, check your total, and then view this Trapinch stapler on OneMall.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is the Trapinch stapler in Japan?
The official price is ¥1,760 including tax[1]. On November 6, 2026, new, unused Mercari listings asked ¥12,000 to ¥16,900, and the official page read 品切れ.
What is Trapinch’s Japanese name?
Trapinch is ナックラー, #0328 in both the English and Japanese Pokédex[3][4]. The full Japanese product name is ステープラー かみつき隊 ナックラー[1], which is the phrase to paste into a Japanese search.
What staples does the Trapinch stapler use, and how many sheets can it hold?
It takes No. 10 staples (10号針), 1,000 are included, and the package says commercially available refills fit[1]. Neither the product page, the package back nor the announcement lists a maximum sheet count[1][2], so we do not quote one.
Is this the same as the MAX Pokemon stapler?
No. MAX’s サクリ ポケモンデザイン (Sakuri Pokémon Design) staplers are a separate line built on MAX’s Sakuri body and printed with Pokémon pixel art, including a Pikachu version. MAX’s page for vol. 2 marks the product as discontinued[8]. Its maximum of about 20 sheets applies to that MAX model, not to the Trapinch stapler.
Does Pokémon Center Online ship overseas?
No. Its delivery guide says the store does not accept overseas deliveries and takes delivery addresses in Japan only[7].
Can OneMall check the stapler before it ships?
You can add unboxing photos before international shipping, and Mercari listings like this one also support a wrong or missing item check. Both show you what reached our warehouse. We do not authenticate items, so the listing photos, condition label and seller notes still matter.
