TL;DR
Team Rocket’s Moltres ex SAR (124/098) costs ¥25,100 to ¥37,800 in a PSA 10 slab in the listings re-checked on 2026-11-05, the one PSA 9 is ¥19,500, and the two raw copies ask ¥10,800 and ¥16,666. The cheapest slab is 2.32× the cheapest raw: a ¥10,800 Yahoo! - PSA 9 at ¥19,500 is 78% of the cheapest 10 and ¥8,700 above the cheapest raw.
- Raw copies: ¥10,800 on Yahoo! Flea Market (“No obvious damage or stains”) and ¥16,666 on Mercari (“Nearly unused”).

Every price in this table is the seller’s listed price for that Team Rocket’s Moltres ex copy, read from the item page on 2026-11-05; the USD figure is the checkout conversion shown alongside it. All rows are Japanese-language prints of the Pokémon TCG[5], and condition notes are the seller’s own condition field on Mercari or Yahoo! Flea Market, translated. Seller titles are in Japanese; the tiles further down link to each listing. Mercari itself permits overseas purchases through partner proxy services[3].
On 2026-11-05 the cheapest slab is a ¥25,100 Mercari listing (seller condition “Unused”; cert 169200015 is readable in the seller photo); the other two are Mercari slabs at ¥36,699 and ¥37,800, so the second-cheapest 10 costs ¥11,599 more. The single PSA 9 at ¥19,500 is an unused Mercari listing priced ¥8,700 above the cheapest raw. The cheaper raw is a ¥10,800 Yahoo! Flea Market listing marked “No obvious damage or stains” (the seller photo shows the card in a clear sleeve); the other is a ¥16,666 Mercari listing marked “Nearly unused”. The ¥10,000 Mercari raw from the 2026-11-03 check has sold. In the 2026-09-29 sweep, fourteen raws stood against twelve slabs — a balanced supply that kept the multiple low; the ¥10,800 raw now widens it to 2.32×.

One scope note: this page prices the Japanese Team Rocket’s Moltres ex 124/098 from The Glory of Team Rocket only. English prints of the same artwork have their own collector number, set name and market, and none of the figures here apply to them[5]. Promos and full-art variants from other sets are separate cards as well — check the number on the PSA label against 124/098 before comparing.
PSA 10 vs raw Team Rocket’s Moltres ex: what a 2.32× premium buys
A 2.32× multiple, or a ¥14,300 gap, is a moderate grading premium. With a ¥10,800 raw listed, the raw card no longer accounts for most of the slab price, so the earlier argument that raw Moltres copies hold value on their own carries less weight. The steps above the raw are uneven: the PSA 9 at ¥19,500 sits ¥8,700 above the cheapest raw but only ¥5,600 below the cheapest 10 (78% of it). For self-submission that means more room on the raw-to-slab step — a 10 is listed ¥14,300 above the cheapest raw at the 2026-11-05 floor, before grading fees and shipping — while the 9-to-10 step stays narrow. PSA’s GEM MT 10 standard[6] is the same bar as anywhere; on these listings the cheapest raw Moltres asks about 43% of the cheapest PSA 10.
| Route | Cost today (JPY, before shipping) | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Buy the cheapest PSA 10 slab | ¥25,100 | Grade already locked in; you pay the full premium, nothing to wait for. |
| Buy the cheapest raw copy as-is | ¥10,800 | Lowest-cost route in this table; condition is whatever the photos show. |
| Buy a raw copy that offers Mercari official authentication (OneMall submits the item; Mercari official issues the conclusion; OneMall does not guarantee authenticity) | ¥18,366 | The ¥16,666 Mercari raw + ¥1,700 authentication fee[1], where the Mercari seller has enabled it (seller-enabled on Mercari listings only). Mercari official issues its conclusion before the card ships (OneMall does not guarantee authenticity), but it is still ungraded. The cheaper ¥10,800 raw is on Yahoo! Flea Market, which does not offer this service. |
Buy the ¥25,100 slab if you want gem mint; the next copy costs ¥11,599 more. Buy the ¥10,800 Yahoo! Flea Market raw if you want the card; Mercari official authentication (OneMall submits the item; Mercari official issues the conclusion; OneMall does not guarantee authenticity)[1] is seller-enabled on Mercari listings only and is offered on the ¥16,666 Mercari raw, bringing it to ¥18,366 before shipping. The ¥19,500 PSA 9 is a sealed option for ¥8,700 more than the cheapest raw.
Buying a Team Rocket’s Moltres ex SAR 124/098 from Japan: step by step
The purchase runs the same whether it is the ¥10,800 Yahoo! Flea Market raw or the ¥25,100 Mercari slab; here are the steps.
- Step 1 — Decide slab or raw. The cost table above puts the gap at ¥14,300 between the cheapest raw copy and the cheapest PSA 10 on 2026-11-05; decide which side of that line you are on before you browse.
- Step 2 — Open the OneMall listing. The tiles below are live Japanese listings; the price you see is the listed price in yen with the USD conversion applied at checkout.
- Step 3 — Tick Mercari official authentication (OneMall submits the item; Mercari official issues the conclusion; OneMall does not guarantee authenticity) on raw cards. It costs ¥1,700 per card and the buyer pays it[1][2]; a card that fails is returned to the seller and you are refunded.
- Step 4 — Pay, then let it land in Tokyo. Product price and service fee first; shipping is billed separately after the warehouse weighs the parcel.
- Step 5 — Consolidate. The first six orders consolidate free and items are stored free for 90 days after arrival (30 days after consolidation), which is how collectors turn five Mercari sellers into one DHL box.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a PSA 10 Team Rocket’s Moltres ex SAR cost?
In-stock Japanese listings re-checked on 2026-11-05 ask ¥25,100 to ¥37,800 (about US$173–261 before shipping); all three are Mercari slabs.
How big is the PSA 10 premium on this card?
The two live raw listings ask ¥10,800 and ¥16,666 (2026-11-05), so the cheapest 10 adds ¥14,300 — a 2.32× multiple, a moderate premium now that a ¥10,800 raw is listed. The PSA 9 at 78% of the cheapest 10 shows the top two grades are still priced close together. The 2026-09-29 sweep also found a balanced raw-to-slab supply (fourteen raws, twelve slabs).
Is the PSA 9 worth buying at ¥19,500?
It is a sealed, cert-numbered copy for ¥8,700 more than the cheapest raw and ¥5,600 less than the cheapest PSA 10 (2026-11-05) — an option if you want a holder without paying for the 10; if you only want the card, the ¥10,800 raw costs less.

What is the PSA 10 population for Team Rocket’s Moltres ex 124/098?
This page does not quote a population count. PSA publishes the census in its Population Report[6], and the number moves with every submission batch, so a figure copied here would be stale within weeks. What the market shows instead is live supply: 12 PSA 10 slabs, 1 PSA 9 slab and 14 raw copies of Team Rocket’s Moltres ex 124/098 in stock on 2026-09-29 — the ratio of slabs to raws is the practical read on how heavily the card has been graded.
