Prices were read from each Charizard V item page on 2026-10-25 — the seller’s listed price, with USD as the checkout conversion shown on the same page. Every row is a Japanese-language print of the Pokémon TCG[5]; the condition column is the seller’s Mercari / Yahoo! Flea Market condition field, translated, while Suruga-ya’s shop stock has no condition field. Seller titles are Japanese, and the tiles further down open each listing directly. Mercari permits purchases from overseas through partner proxy services[3].
On 2026-10-25 the PSA 10 is ¥19,500 on Mercari, seller condition “Nearly unused”, and the raw is ¥3,666 on Mercari, seller condition “Slight damage or stain” — a ¥15,834 gap. In the 2026-09-29 sweep, the slab ladder was ¥14,500, ¥15,000, ¥16,300, ¥16,500 and ¥17,500, all on Yahoo! Flea Market; the two PSA 9s were Mercari listings at ¥8,600 and ¥13,890; and raw copies were ¥4,400 twice and ¥4,555. Mercari official authentication is seller-enabled on Mercari listings only; check the item page before you count on it.

All of the above is the Japanese-language Charizard V — number 211/172 in VSTAR Universe high-class pack. The English-language print of the same illustration carries a different collector number and set name, trades in a separate market, and is not covered by these prices[5]. Promo versions and full-art variants from other sets are different cards again: match the number on the slab label before you compare a price.
Charizard V PSA 10 value: is the slab worth 5.32× a raw copy?
A 5.32× multiple, or a ¥15,834 gap, is what the ¥19,500 PSA 10 costs over the ¥3,666 raw on 2026-10-25. In the 2026-09-29 sweep the same comparison was 3.30× (¥14,500 against ¥4,400), with 43 slabs in stock and a ¥8,600 PSA 9 at 59% of the cheapest 10 — so the premium has widened since then. PSA’s GEM MT 10 standard[6] is demanding on a full-art VSTAR Universe card with dark borders that show whitening, and the live raw is listed with “Slight damage or stain”, which makes it a binder copy rather than a grading candidate. Buying the slab locks in the grade; grading your own only makes sense on a raw whose photos show clean edges and surface.
| Route | Cost today (JPY, before shipping) | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Buy the cheapest PSA 10 slab | ¥19,500 | Grade already locked in; you pay the full premium, nothing to wait for. |
| Buy the cheapest raw copy as-is | ¥3,666 | The lowest-cost copy linked on this page; condition is whatever the photos show (seller note: “Slight damage or stain”). |
| Buy the cheapest raw copy with Mercari official authentication (OneMall submits the item; Mercari official issues the conclusion; OneMall does not guarantee authenticity) | ¥5,366 | ¥3,666 + ¥1,700 authentication fee[1], only if the seller has enabled it on the listing; Mercari official issues its conclusion before the card ships (OneMall does not guarantee authenticity), but it is still ungraded. |
On 2026-10-25 the ¥19,500 Mercari slab is the live option for gem mint. No PSA 9 is linked on this page now (the 2026-09-29 sweep had one at ¥8,600). For the binder, the ¥3,666 raw — or ¥5,366 with Mercari official authentication (OneMall submits the item; Mercari official issues the conclusion; OneMall does not guarantee authenticity)[1] where the seller has enabled it — is the low-cost route; its “Slight damage or stain” note makes it a weak candidate for a submission.
How to buy Charizard V SAR 211/172 from Japan
Mercari and Yahoo! Flea Market listings go through the same proxy steps. For this card:
- Step 1 — Read the seller’s title and photos. Japanese titles carry the grade (PSA10), the number (211/172) and often the set code; the photos show the cert number on the label.
- Step 2 — Add to cart on OneMall. No Japanese phone number or address needed — the proxy is the buyer of record on Mercari, and Mercari’s own help pages describe this partner-purchase route[3].
- Step 3 — Choose extras. Mercari official authentication (+¥1,700) (OneMall submits the item; Mercari official issues the conclusion; OneMall does not guarantee authenticity)[1][2] on eligible raw cards, or OneMall’s unboxing photos for a slab.
- Step 4 — First payment. Item price plus a service fee of ¥300 per item on most marketplaces (from ¥200 per item on Yahoo Auctions and LinkBuy).
- Step 5 — Second payment and delivery. Once the card is in the warehouse you pick the carrier — ECMS, DHL or Japan Post EMS (DDP) to the US — and can store it free for 90 days after arrival (30 days after consolidation) to combine with other finds; the first six orders consolidate free.
