If you want a specific, unusual, one-of-one object, Mercari is your market. If you want all thirty-four volumes of the same manga in matching condition, tomorrow, that is a BOOKOFF problem, and no individual seller solves it as cleanly.

Region locking still applies. A used Japanese PS4 disc is region-free and will run on any PS4, but the game’s language will be whatever the Japanese release shipped with. Japanese DVDs are region 2 and Japanese Blu-rays are region A — region A includes the Americas and most of East Asia, but not Europe or Australia. Check before you buy a boxed TV series.
How to Buy From BOOKOFF From Overseas: Step by Step
- Search the Japanese title, not the English one. 進撃の巨人, not Attack on Titan. Japanese retail catalogues are indexed in Japanese, and the English title returns a fraction of the stock.
- Add the format word. 全巻セット for a complete manga run, ＰＳ４ or Ｓｗｉｔｃｈ for games, ＣＤ or Blu-ray for media. Note that BOOKOFF’s catalogue often uses full-width Latin characters, so a search that returns nothing is sometimes a width problem rather than a stock problem.
